THAT’S A WRAP!

I’ve always wanted to use that phrase and have it actually fit and be appropriate…today that dream came true. We have officially shot our first music video and I really think it is going to be great. Tonight, we had people in to be in the video but I don’t want to really let the “cat out of the bag” on exactly what they did. I’ll just say this…their words will play and important part in the video…enough said.

I plan on putting up a podcast of the video shoot as well as some other days but it will be later this week, possibly the first of next week. We still have two shows to play this week but thankfully we have some time off afterwards and I personally will be doing a little vacationing!

So, keep checking back for some videos! Also, we cannot say thank you enough to everyone who came out tonight to be in the video. We were blown away by the response we got from only putting the word out for one day! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

video shoot day one.

Well, we will see how it turns out but as of right now the “call on the field” is that this may be the coolest thing we have done together as a band…in my opinion. I think this video is going to be really great. We shot most of the band stuff tonight. We are now officially sick of the song…but, we’ll make it. Tomorrow we have a lot of different people coming in to be in the video so that should be really fun. I think you all are going to be very surprised at how awesome this turns out. Robby has wanted to do this since we first even mentioned starting a band and has really taken the bull by the horn on this whole project. He has a great vision and it is very cool to see it start coming forth. The church we are shooting at is beautiful and we are also taking a lot of photos and “B” roll footage that we will show you later in a podcast and such. Here is a photo from the shoot tonight…

We are very excited about this video and can’t wait for it to be finished but there will still be work to be done after we finish shooting tomorrow…we’ll keep you updated. Check back tomorrow for more details and photos!

Sunday mornings in a church for a “modern” worship band are always kinda “we’ll see what happens…hope we’re not too loud.” Today, however, was a no worries experience at McCollough Christian Center. This church was flat out rowdy and was very into the worship. We did about an hour set and it went great. We actually hadn’t played in a couple of weeks because of GMA and our monthly off weekend but I thought we were right on. Hosanna is still going over awesome in our set. People really latch on to it pretty quick and are still thinking that it’s our song…sorry, wish it was.

I love it when the pastor of the church tells you to have freedom to lead as you feel led by the spirit. The church staff was great.

The good thing about playing a sunday morning and not having a night gig is getting home early…something we haven’t done in a while. We did a little videoing so look for a video podcast later on in the week. I hope you guys who actually read this blog are enjoying the videos. Next weekend should also be great because we will be with good friends Ohio Avenue. We haven’t seen them since November. They rock and we are going to rock it together down in Montgomery!! Here’s the set for today:

Glorious King
Revealed
Here is our King
Everlasting Love
What You Did
Psalm 80 & 86
Hosanna
Jesus Paid it All
Waiting
Filled with Your Glory

Also, here’s a pic I snapped of my drums…this is sort of a glimpse of some videos we are about to do with each band member talking about their gear you see them play on a nightly basis. Pretty cool, I think…hope you guys will like it!

We are on our way down to Atmore, AL to lead worship for a morning service tomorrow at a church called McCollough Christian Center. We just stopped and got a quick bite to eat at the good ole’ DQ (that’s Dairy Queen) and I thought I would share with you a bit of dialogue that I found to be pretty funny. It went a little something like this:

Adam: Amy has this friend, Allison, that works at the Verizon store in Jacksonville.
Robby: Yeah.
Adam: She is dating Acton. (who is a friend of ours)
Joel: Oh OK. I saw a picture of him and her on his myspace. That makes sense now.
Adam: Apparently she has like a phenomenal singing voice.
Robby: Oh really.
Adam: Yeah, she got invited to some place to sing for the troops before they left for Iraq.
Joel: Well that’s pretty cool.
Joshua: Yeah, she also has a killer cell phone plan.

More updates to come…

photo shoot and more.

Sunday we had a photo shoot in Atlanta with awesome photographer and friend, Sara Harper. Adam and I went and met up with Robby and Josh in Jacksonville and then we headed all over. We went around downtown mainly and I am hoping we got some stuff to use. We have these photos as well as some from a recent concert that we are going to add to the sites soon and re-tweak our myspace page a little so keep checking back. We also got to eat at one of my favorites, The Varsity!

Things start to get back more to our normal routine this week now that we are back and rested from GMA Week. We play the next three weekends and also will be shooting a music video for our current single, Glorious King. We are very excited about shooting this video. This will be a big time first for us and I think it is going to be great. Robby has orchestrated this whole thing and I think he has a great vision…can’t wait to see it come together.

Speaking of our first single…please call and request it at your local christian station! Keep looking at the sites this week…may have some giveaways!!

Joel
