As Adam mentioned in a previous post, we made a new friend in Lafayette, GA named Jim Powell. He is the pastor of Harbor Lights Baptist Church. But we discovered he had an alias several years ago. He was “The Dirty White Boy.” Confused? Let me ’splain.
Our firend Jim was once a professional wrestler. Jim wrestled for the NWA for several years as a long-haired “Dirty White Boy.” There was another “Dirty White Boy” that was much dirtier so I don’t want any of you wrestling fans to be confused. He was NOT the blonde, curly haired “Dirty White Boy.” I remember him being a little bit nicer.
When I say I remember, I mean, I really remember. I grew up in Dalton, GA and saw Jim wrestle when I was a kid. I even had my picture made with him one time. When Jim made the announcement that he was, in fact, the DWB I was blown away. I couldn’t believe it was him. Jim is super nice and probably one of the best all around men I have met in a while. We had a lot of fun reminiscing about the “good ole days” when wrestling was fun to watch and not as “dirty” as it is today. He told us a lot of stories about those days that really took all of us back to a more innocent time when we had no idea what the world was really like. Thanks for bringing back some great memories Jim!
ALSO…I want to personally thank everyone for checking out out blog, our new music video, and for requesting our single, Glorious King, at your local radio station. I am continually blown away by the support of the FDL fans. Keep checking in for updates from the road. You can now follow me, Adam and Joel on twitter. Maybe we will bring Josh into the loop soon.
We love you guys!
Robby
